My neighbor showed me how to hand sew the binding to my quilt - and I am really enjoying it. I have always dreaded hand sewing because I am not good at it - but after one easy lesson I think I am really enjoying it. Yah....

congratulations, have fun!

It is fun, isn't it. I really enjoy that part of the process myself.

Doing the binding is my favorite part of the quilting process. The hand sewing is relaxing and finishing the binding means the quilt is finshed!

Don't forget to put a label on the quilt. I like to do it at the same time I am putting the binding on, so when I am done, I am really done!

Yeah for another victory!

Good for you.

I always hand sew my bindings on and I hate sewing on labels. I would be happy to leave them off. If I give someone a quilt I expect them to remember who gave it to them. I don't make heirloom quilts.

I think they always look better by hand - I too do not hand sew well but love to do the bindings! That is my goal this year - I have even been practicing hand quilting. I am getting better at it!! lol

I agree with eparys. I like hand stitched binding better. I like doing it and findit very relaxing - unless I am in a hurry to finish ;)

I am always amazed at how much easier a chore gets when someone shows me the right way to do it. Thank the good Lord for helpers.
