I made the top of it up this evening, paying close attention to the 1/4" seam and other accuracies... but find it won't lay flat. I even tried to press it into submission, including using starch. Still, it just wants to ripple a little here and there.

This is my first Dresden plate pattern. Can anyone tell me what caused this and how I can fix it?

Thanks so much,

I never use an iron until I am ready to sew it on the background, I either finger press or bone folder press. :P

Okay, here's the finished project. Everything turned out just fine. The only thing I would do differently next time is use a lighter/thinner batting. I used W & N on this, but since you 'birth' it after sewing the layers together that made for one THICK edge to sew through.

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words and assistance.
