I love this fabric and was wondering if it will work for the stack and whack quilt.
http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...&key=mdsblgyel Thanks for your input. After reading all your wonderful commets would this one work better? http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...key=MDSBFPACKY |
You are right it is beautiful; but I don't think it would be a good stack and whack because it is just two colors and the flowers are too far apart. The blocks would all be about the same, not enough contrast.

I don't know about a stack n whack but I made a quilt out of the jelly rolls of this line of fabric. I think it's absolutely beautiful fabric and it was great to work with as I find that Moda always is. Blue and yellow is my favoriet color combination. Good luck with your quilt and be sure to post pitures.

I had to look even though I know nothing about Stack and Whack.
It's gorgeous fabric. I think you need to buy some anyway lol :D:D |
I agree, I don't think it is the best choice for a stack and whack because there is not enough pattern going on. It is lovely fabric tho

A stack and whack, unlike a OBW, is often fussy cut where you are trying to highlight a specific part of the motif. Then you take the kalidescope block and surround it with different fabrics, again to highlight that particular block. If you are doing a stack and whack, then I think this fabric would be great. If you are really thinking about a one block wonder, however, I think there's a bit too much background.

You may be able to use it for a Stack and Whack. The best way to tell is to take 2 small mirrors and place them in a V shape and stand them up on the fabric. Then you can see what the colidescope will look like. I did this when I worked at the LQS. It really helped chose fabrics for Stack and Whack. This fabric would have only 2 colors but I see lots of potential for some beautiful blocks.

i know absolutely nothing about stack and whacks...
however you might get enough contrast if you use the rose arbor on yellow...with a more solid white(maybe a tone on tone)a more of a butter yellow than the pale and pick out the dark blue... but whatever you figure on doing...that is some gorgeous fabric you have found |
