Yes, if it is the old fashioned cotton type, no, if it is the new polyester type, ask me how I know! Oh and the new polyester type does not like a hot iron, again ask me how I know that too!

Polyester ric rac will not shrink...and it should be colorfast...I use a lot of this in my regular sewing...

I found in my stash of trims some ric rack with fusible on the back. I have no idea where I got it. It was bought by the yard so no package.

I've found that cotton/poly bias tape WILL shrink if it's soaked in hot water.

Also glad to know as I have some to use. Thanks!

Poly' is a fiber made from oil. It will not shrink or bleed. Colorant is added to the poly' when it is still a liquid and then extruded into the fiber and then woven into whatever ( my
mothers pants!):D

Generally, the newer rickrack won't shrink. Just don't stretch it while your appliqueing it. I've used baby rickrack to applique on Sunbonnet Sue blocks. If you do decide to wash it, be sure to put it in a mesh bag so it isn't so horribly tangled when it comes out of the washer/dryer.
