Wondering?

Is there a BOM that is for beginner quilters? One that would do a VERY BASIC block the first month and then instruct us for something just one step harder in the next month and build on basic skills each month so that us newbies dont feel overwhelmed? I want to do Sula Bug's BOM but the first block is much more than I have ever done. It would be so helpful if there was such a thing. I did a table top with just 4" blocks and then a lap quilt that was HST and then a king quilt with just 4" squares again. That is all I know how to do and need some help that would bridge from basic squares to the harder and more involved blocks.

I am going to try to do the practice paper piecing etc suggested for the first block from SulaBug but I feel I need a few steps of learning before I am ready for her blocks.

see if you can find one with star blocks..those generally range in techniques and give you a great range of things to try!

This might suit you. Its a free block of the month, with video showing you how to do everything, and you can watch it as many tiumes as you like

When I first started I learned with an Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day sampler book. All the blocks are different and she has great instructions.

Try this. It assumes you know how to rotary cut but looks like it will be a good exercise in skill building.

Great! I use Craftsy for my Missouri Quilt classes but I didnt know there was a BOM on there, and for free? The price is JUST right. I will check it out, I listened to the introduction but am excited to get started there because the accompanying videos is like having a personal tutor in my home and I can replay over and over AND ask questions. Just what I need right now.

I just watched the Craftsy free BOM tonight and thought it was very good. Looks like a lot of us are watching.
