I have some wool, and wool blends scraps, that I would like to have some suggestions on how to use for quilting. They are too nice to throw away but don't want to put a lot of work into something that cannot be washed. If I make up a quilt with a combination could it be washed in cold water and dried out side?

The expert uses a pretty labor/supply intensive process to prepare the wool, though.

A lot of pure wool fabrics on the market now are supposed to be machine washable. Wool blends are usually washable now, too. If you're starting with something you've purchased within the past few years, prewash a small piece to see what happens to it. You might be able to use it like any other heavy fabric without a lot of complicated pretreatment.

Thanks for the info. I got brave and washed them all in cold water and dried them in the dryer, there was only one that was pure wool and that felted which was OK and I will use that for a felted project and the other ones I am going to use for a floor pillow I think or a throw. They were going to be thrown away and I thought they were too nice to do that. Thanks again. Shirley
