Since I am so short on space, I wondered if batting could be stored in the vacuum space bags. Of course they would have to sit out for a while to retain their fluffiness before using. These are all Hobbs Dream Poly. My closet keeps shrinking and I don't have any room left. Can't buy any more of anything, clothes included, unless I do something. Am trying to get ahead before prices go up some more. Has anyone done this? I'd appreciate your various opinions and thank you again. Marge L.

I don't see why not. I store lots of things in those bags, they're really useful.

Interesting idea - People always use space bags to store other things . My first response is "sure - why not?" but I have never tried it. Why not try one for a while and undo it to see how it looks. Perhaps someone else has experience with this.

I use them for scrap pieces of batting but not for large quilt size. After removing from bag I spray with water and hang up with large paper clips at the bottom to weight them and help pull the wrinkles out. If in a hurry they can be tossed in the dryer on low for a few minutes.

i use for a lot of things but the commercial shows them putting pillows in, i haven't tried it yet but i just don't think they would fluff back up, now with batting i think you could dampen it and put it in the dryer to fluff.

I didn't have any luck using space bags to store things - they reinflated right away. I have put left over batting in bags and squeezed all the air out, then stacked stuff on top of them. The poly batting fluffed up again after a few hours of sitting out in the air.

I don't know how much more air you can get out of a commercially bagged poly batting though. They take the air out to reduce floor size for shipping and sales area.
