Bought the new Brother V Series Sewing/Quilting machine! I am so excited. I really wanted this machine and my hubby said go for it, so it did! Wow, a lot to spend for a machine, but it looks awesome!!!!! i can not wait until it comes in = mid September.I am thinking it will be so worth the wait.

Now who can teach me to machine quilt?????

Congratulations...you are a lucky girl!
I got to see it and try it out at the AQS show in Michigan yesterday. They had a show deal on the price. $500 off, and it also included, at no cost, a $2,000 sewing cabinet with the fold down side...enough room to lay on a huge project for free motion quilting AND the three carrying cases, also at no cost!!! It's soooo tempting to take it because I know there won't be another deal like it out there. It has 11" space under the arm and has a laser that you can use to tell if you're sewing straight. Too many features to mention...some I don't know if I'd ever use them. I also found a Pfaff and a Husquvarna (sp?) that were really good deals for much less cost. My dilemma is the show ends at 5:00 today, and since my two machines are both out of commission I need to decide quickly. Don't know if I can even get there today. I'm going to my DDIL's baby shower at 2:00!

Congrats! I love Brother machines. I think that out of all the machines on the market Brother is the most user friendly.

Latrinka 08-25-2012 05:13 AM

Congrats on your new machine! There's plenty info on machine quilting on here and on youtube!

By the looks of many comments on this board, husbands of Quilters must be about as special as the Quilters themselves! We are a blessed bunch, aren't we??

BrendaY 08-25-2012 10:38 AM

Hooray for you! That's fantastic! You are going to have SO much fun!

Indeed we are blessed!! My DH bought me a Janome Horizon for Christmas last year - all by himself (with a little advice from my sis).. What a guy!! He never complains when I come in the door with another bag of fabric from the LQS.. But then, I don't complain when he buys a new gun, four-wheeler, tractor, etc., etc., etc., SO we're blessed to have found each other!!

elliot 08-25-2012 11:50 AM

I was curious about how much it costs, am I allowed to ask that here?

Jingle 08-25-2012 04:30 PM

Good for you. I am not a patient waiter. I would go nuts to have to wait that long. Good for you to get it.

nstitches4u 08-25-2012 04:40 PM

Congratulations! Great new machine and a hubby who is definitely a keeper!

d.rickman 08-25-2012 10:40 PM

You might want to check out www.craftsy.com, they have lots of quilting classes, and some times there are free classes.
Congratulations on your new machine - just have fun with it!!

There an awesome feeling about getting a new machine I have had mine
for a while I think I need a new one.

Sewnoma 08-26-2012 07:28 AM

Congratulations!! I think a new sewing machine is more exciting than a new car! September seems like such a long wait though...I had to wait a WEEK to get my "baby" and I was literally(!) having dreams about her every single night...and I got to the store a half-hour before they even opened on the day I was to pick her up, LOL.

tjradj 08-26-2012 05:33 PM

I need to get one of those! The wonderful husband I mean lol.

Treasureit 08-26-2012 05:35 PM

Give us an update when you use it...can't wait to hear more about it.

Congrats on a new machine!

So much fun... and you're gonna love that 11" of space! (I just got the Janome Horizon 2 weeks ago - and I can't imagine going back to a small sewing machine again!)
