Can some of you post some of your Beautiful creations so others can get an idea of what they will look like....someone mentioned aprons....do you have a simple quick apron pattern?

Nearly finished now: infinity scarves; hot "wheater" bottles; slipper boots (from recovered denim fabric); handbags. Think that about covers it for this year!

Will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

7 casserole carriers finished up and 4 mug rugs finished up and headed to dining/sewing room to whip out a half dozen shopping bags.

I'd love to, but my computer won't let me post pics!

That just plain stinks any time of the year, but for a "maker" it's really bad at Christmas! Need a couple dozen tissue covers?

We don't do Christmas gifts anymore, but I'm making some small wallhangings for several people. Due to some injuries, I might set aside the holiday ones, but I also have some snowman ones to make, appropriate for the rest of the Winter. They are applique. You assemble the background, fuse the pieces, then pinbaste to batting and backing. Then use the machine's blanket stitch to not only finish the applique but quilt it at the same time.

I'm making quillows for just about everyone; NFL for all of my kids and thier older kids, THEY are all football nuts, not me. Its been a challenge to find out each one's favorite team without telling them why. Since they know I sew, they'd guess it was a present of some sort. The younger ones are getting quillows in colors/patterns they like. The NFL ones will have each person's name and an applique of a football on the pocket.

I'm also embroidering elf hair clips for the girls along with just some other special designs; they are always losing them so it'll come in handy.

I have a prince and princess emb design for an ornament, so I'm adding each kids name and the yr on them so they'll be the name tag and then become an ornament.

I have some ITH 18in doll clothes that I might get to but not sure yet, since I'm not sure if I can afford to buy the dolls yet.

I'm emb some towel toppers to make kitchen towels to hang on the oven doors and emb library has these pot holders that fold and have different emb designs on them.

I'm making lots of spumoni cakes and biscotti because I'd get shot if I didn't after all of these yrs and also pepperoni rolls too; they are a big hit at work. food of any kind at work is always greatly appreciated.

who knows after that; I have lots of emb projects that can be done its a matter of time and energy if I get to do more. I wanted to make a memory quilt for DDIL but not sure it'll get done before Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

[QUOTE=mpspeedy2; They each live at least an hour from us by car but it might as well be on the moon. We are lucky if we see them in person three or four times a year. When the grandchildren were little I ocassionally got to babysit but those times were few and far between. The youngest of them is now 15.[/QUOTE]

I feel for you not getting to see your grandkids more. My daughter moved to NC, a month ago and it shocked everyone because when she moved 10 min away she thought that was far, about and hour drive. I figured I might see her about once a week, since I watch the kids at least once a week so she can go out and have some downtime. This week she's been there about every day but I've seen them every week. Sometimes she just spends the night and then gets up early to take her son to school. I'm sure at some point it won't be as much but never more than two weeks. Her 7yr old son would be calling me and telling me he needs a break from his mom; I just laugh. He and I are the closest of all of my grandkids and my best buddy. I'm not even allowed to go to WV without him or he gets upset because before he started school he always went with me. I always take a few days off during his Christmas vacation so he can spend it with me. I have other grandkids that I don't see as often and that does hurt but after losing our 18 yr old grandaughter in Oct we are all trying to do better. At least every couple of weeks I send my 3 oldest sons (the ones that I don't hear from as often) a text just saying I Love You. They always respond back. I hope one day you get to see yours more often.
