I agree with crafty pat. It depends on the design of the quilt. If I'm using l930's designs, then I like it crinkly. So it just depends on the quilt and the period of fabric I'm using.

I used to like the flat look for all quilts, but have come to like the crinkly look for bed quilts.

I love both also. Some quilts need to lay flatter, like a wall hanging or some modern quilts. However, I think crinkly for lap quilts and to snuggle in. :)

I love old quilts and use reproduction fabrics, the crinkle makes it look more like an antique quilt.
So I'm a crinkle girl.

I never wash fabric and rarely use colors that will bleed. That said, I prefer the crinkled look. It give the quilt dimension, particularly after I have hand quilted it, and there isn't the dense quilting that goes on with machine quilting. I am not a big fan of a lot of quilting on anything. The crinkled look gives it character. 'nuff said.

Crinkly all the way! I didn't know that homemade quilts came any other way. I can't wait to wash and dry the finished project so it looks like a quilt!

It doesn't matter to me...it depends on the quilt, as I think the crinkly look makes it look vintage.....

Me too. I love crinkly!

Bear i always love your questionsso I am chiming in first. The answer is.....'it depends'...If its a wall hanging or table topper I like the flat look. If its for quilts, I like the crinkly look - I think it gives the quilts more dimension and also that kind of antiquey look. Of course I am way too lazy to prewash and iron my fabrics so maybe thats why!!!

I agree with everything, except that I do prewash everything!
