I've always used warm and natural/white for batting, but for my current WIP, I'd like something just like it but lighter weight. I don't want to have to quilt too closely together (machine quilting). What would you suggest?

Thanks!

I just used Fleece instead of batting...love it!! It was very easy to machine quilt.

I use Quilters Dream blend. You can stitch up to 12" apart with it and it is a little lighter in weight I think.

Do you want something lighter weight BECAUSE you want to quilt further apart? If I understand you correctly, I'm a bit confused, coz W&N/W&W can be quilted with (imho) huge gaps. I wanna say 8-10" apart.

If you want something really lightweight, I did one with flannel in the middle. That was very soft.

For "summer" quilts, prewashed flannel like MadQuilter mentioned or some use a layer of cotton fabric instead of traditional batting :D:D:D

Thanks. Sounds like flannel would be a good choice.

I'm watching this one. I have the same question.

Quilters Dream Cotton Request loft or Select loft (better I feel). Neither is heavy as WN and can be quilted up to 8” apart. http://quiltersdreambatting.com/
Comes in white or natural.
