I haven't made many yoyos, and don't think I am up for making many either  , but I was using my regular 50 wt. cotton thread for gathering, and I was breaking it sometimes when I am not careful pulling. What thread do you normally use?

Thanks!

I used regular thread but doubled it and used a slightly larger needle. I have never made a quilt out of them, but used them on a quilt I made out of used wool/drill clothing (with some velvets thrown in). I use the quilt in winter on the couch and the flowers and yoyos are holding up well.

I use quilting thread and put a drop of fray check on the knot so it won't come undone.

I use single strand of HAND quilting thread...and I use the yo-yo maker by Clover http://www.clover-usa.com/products/268066/Yo-Yo_Makers

Wouldn't make yo-yos without it!

Thanks all!
Yes, I have some of Clover Yoyo makers and I was using them to make the few yoyos I made.
I see that I should buy hand quilting thread. Thanks for the advice.
