I've fallen in love with yoyo's. I was making them without the Clover Yoyo Maker and wasn't really thrilled but then I thought I might as well buy one and see if it really helps.

I can honestly say it is a gadget I will definately use. Oh, I'm so excited.

The yard needs some TLC, my house needs some TLC and now I'm addicted to yoyo's.

Ok, I must get back outside and work in my yard. Well at least for a bit.

enjoy!

Have fun with them! They are addicting.

I've just finished making yoyos without the tool also. Like you, wondered if it was worth buying. Maybe I'll invest now.

I have never made any yoyo's .. I see them here and may just have to give them a try!

I highly recommend the Clover Yo-Yo Makers. So easy to use and they are consistently the same size each and every time. Last time I went to JoAnns they were located in the quilting notions area and were 50% off. ;)

jststampin 07-15-2010 03:49 PM

I used a 50% off coupon on mine and paid only 2.99 for it. It was definately worth that.

I love yo's yo's too! I haven't bought the Clover yo yo makers yet, but they are on my wish list. It's just that they keep coming out with new shapes all the time!

I love to make yo-yos -- something so satisfying about making something so small so perfect (using the yoyo makers of course!) :D

I started making the yo-yo's without the yo-yo maker. Once I bought it I couldn't believe the difference. You can make one in half the time.

My SIL got me started. She has made a queen quilt, and a cushion set, back and seat, for a child's rocker. They look beautiful. One thing she does is sew them together with a sewing machine as they started coming apart. This makes them very secure.

Happy yo-yoing!

ok, I want in on this yo-yo conversation! I love the little yo-yo animals like the doggie. So annyone got any pics to show I may just have to purchase this clever yo yo maker, if they aren't too much anyway!

jststampin 07-15-2010 07:02 PM

I didn't realize all that you could do with the yoyo's. Guess its a good thing I'm getting hooked on them. I especially want to make a quilt like the one I saw on here the other day. That is what inspired me to get one and try it out because doing it with out the Clover Maker was too much work for me.

I definately recommend the Clover Maker. Now to just find some patterns of things to do with them.

I'd be interested to seeing some pictures if anyone has some.

Laughing out loud as I just got home from JoAnn's with 3 Clover Yo-Yo makers! I ran over to the store 10 minutes before closing time as they were the only things I needed. I had 3 coupons a 50% and 2 40% off. Total $12.81 inc. tax! Jumbo size $8.99 makes a finished 3 1/2 inch Yo-Yo, extra large $6.49 make a finished 2 3/8 inch Yo-Yo and a large $5.99 makes a 1.8 inch finished Yo-Yo. And am I making Yo-Yos - NO I'm reading the board again! LOL! Everyone look at user Patti's listing "whew...I think I'm finished". Spectacular coverlet and decorative pillow!

Oh, I think Patti's quilt used yoyo's that were 3" so now I know they make one 3 1/2 " I just might have to make a trip over there to pick one up and I thnk I just received more coupons in the mail today.

And I did yard work this evening so I've only made two yoyo's but I can tell you more is coming. I even called my mom to tell her I had a new craft for her to try. She lives in a motorhome year round so this would be perfect to do in there. You don't need a lot of place to work or store the stuff and it's fairly inexpensive.

I think we are all enablers. LOL

I've had my Clover yoyo maker for a while and absolutely love it and highly recommend it for it's ease.

As I've said before, I put everything into a makeup bag with a zipper and it's in my car ready to go. If I want to make some in the house, I just go and get it out of the car.

Here's the link to Patti's spectacular room with a yoyo coverlet.

Aw, you guys are making me want to go to JOAnns!!!!!!!!!!!

EagarBeez 07-16-2010 04:43 AM

I loved the look of yo-yo quilts, but, have not tried it yet. I would like to and I am sure that I would purchase one of these yo-yo makers before I even get started

thismomquilts 07-16-2010 05:39 AM

I love the yo-yo maker - I make yo-yo's every once in awhile - I'm trying (not much effort) to collect enough for a twin bed quilt

littlehud 07-16-2010 08:28 AM

I have never tried yo yos but they look like fun.

bryanne 09-23-2010 08:40 AM

I got a yo yo maker and was wondering if you could help me with something. Everything goes along fine until I go to pull in the threads, how do you get the seam (i.e. raw edges turned inward) I can't for the life of me get my head round it. Thaank you bryanne

harvsstuff 09-23-2010 08:46 AM

 I recently bought the yoyo maker in differant sizes and love them. Much neater then the ones I once made. Enjoy yours
