I have been a lurker here for some time but I registered so that I could post to this topic. I so agree with the original poster! The people who give to Project Linus and similar organizations may not realize how much happiness they give to children in very scary situations. My grandson was hospitalized repeatedly during his first 4 years and we received many tied blankets and a blue flannel quilt tied with red yarn. He loved to run his fingers over the yarn strings. It seemed to help him be calm. Now that he has outgrown the crib sized quilt his little brother has inherited it and never sleeps without it. Those gift were such a blessing and were so greatly appreciated!
