I didnt' realized that it's the quilting the makes the quilt and not just the patterns or the fabrics. Of course, they help but with the right quilting pattern, it's what makes the quilt pop!

Thanks for opening me eyes!

if i make something with complex blocks, but just enough quilting to hold it together, my son is just politely appreciative.

the only one over which he's been enthusiastic in his praise was made with very simple blocks but lots of quilting.

Quilting can make a huge difference in a quilts appearance. I am still working on my quilting.

I've never done the actual quilting part...I'm a little scared to try, but after I get all my blocks together I'm going to have it give it a shot.

Every part of the quilt is as important and needs to be paid close attention to. The best piecing will not look amazing without good quilting, and a badly pieced quilt will not look better because of good quilting. Is a combination of both that does the quilt. It takes time to master good techniques to produce good quilts, but is also important to have fun in the process.
