This quilt pattern is from a magazine, but I don't know which one. I wanted the pattern so badly from ebay, but didn't bid enough. Does anyone know where I might find the pattern?

That is a very easy pattern.

You sew four different colored strip sets of 3 fabrics each, and then cut them into sections. They are pieced around the black center using partial seams.

There was a thread about this the other day.

    Here it is http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-147475-1.htm
The link in the first post is to a pattern called Off The Rail. Same exact quilt with different fabric.

I just posted the picture. I can't figure out how they got the small black block into it.

The center square is bigger. It's the same exact pattern/method.

Line up 1st striped piece with the black piece. (like making a log cabin)
    Sew HALF the black block.
Line up 2nd striped piece with the first striped piece & black piece.
    Repeat with 3rd & 4th striped pieces
Now you can finish sewing the 1st striped piece to the black piece and the 4th
