On vacation at Outer Banks. came in early from beach and was reading Q.B. Learned of earthquake. WOW. Called D in Northern Va. She felt nothing and was at dentist. Had texted her sister in NYC -she works in Highrise. She felt nothing. Son is here with us at beach. He felt tremors, I told him he was nuts! Goofed up on that one. So, D.C and Manhattan are evacuating, Baltimore is completely silent, airports in Va, d.c. Phily and NY closed. Glad we are not home. So will play Parchesi with grand kids and after they go to bed, will sew quilt on my featherweight? Q. B. Is so much better than t.v or radio. You guys will always be my first computer hit, home or away!! LOL.

Yup. This board keeps me up to date, too. It was here that I first learned about Osama bin Laden's death.

Hahaha!!! All that over 1 little earthquake? Those people need to go back to work and open those airports!! If they lived in CA they wouldn't be at work half the time!!! Wow...a little over-reaction, I'd say!!

It was felt here in MA on the beach by my husband's aunt who said the sofa moved.

The buildings in the East aren't built with quakes in mind so they're being extra careful to be sure there's no structural damage.

And Mandy, I agree. There's a whole lot of stuff that's better than MSNBC. :)
