I rec'd two different packages today from two different places. What I found surprised me and to find it in both packs really bedazzled me. I love batiks and have ordered before but this time I got what looks like batik but it feels rough like suede or something. Never new it came like that. Is it still considered Cotton? ANyone can help me?

Yes they did. I ordered them off a picture online and "assumed" they were all cotton. I don't mind them, just feel so weird. Like the peach skin. And teh one I won on ebay was 40- 4" samples and half were that and half weren't. So I could always write either and they would explain it to me. I guess I'd rather look silly on this board than to a stranger. LOL. Thanks anyway

Try contacting Robarta (bob1414), she sells lots of batiks, maybe she will know what is going on.

I have some that feel like that. I got mine at WM. I like the way it feels like peach skin.

I don't mind the way it feels, it's just thicker than the other. Couldn't use them together so will have to buy more. That must be why they change it up. LOL. More to buy. I just don't know the difference and how to order. I am going to look into it with the one who sold it to me from Alaska. Thanks everyone.

These sound like too different fabrics completely!
Batik making uses the method of wax resist process in order to make the design patterns on the surface of the fabric, if there is any wax residue left on the surface it should not be like fur but feel like candle or bees wax. This can be easily removed by ironing over the top of the fabric with a very hot iron, being careful to protect both the fabric and the ironing board with plenty of brown paper!!!!!
The fabric you describe sounds like some kind of brushed or suede fabric.
