A friend of mine's mother gave me a long gathered denim skirt she doesn't wear anymore a few months ago so I could use the fabric in a quilt or something. I just can't think of a good pattern to use for this skirt. I will obviously have to go out and buy some other shades of denim for this, but I work in a fabric store so it's no biggie.

Could any of you suggest a good pattern or block to use?

I'm saving jeans--have a LOT as kids outgrew them--and my plan is to make a ragged denim with flannel on the back--no batting.

But you're looking for a pattern? I think it'd look awesome with an accent color--blue or red? I'm not sure how denim works with lighter weight fabrics.

I'm working, ever so slowly, on a denim strip twist for my husband. I bought 2"x4" denim strips off Ebay for a steal.

I really love that skirt. I agree that a nice deep red would be a lovely accent.

Ya I have a pretty hard time actually bringing home a pay check, lol!
Good thing it's my second job, otherwise we'd be in big trouble!

I made a jean rag quilt for my gs for Xmas, used flannel on the back, no batting, as it was heavy enough.

I am using black denim from jeans in a d9p quilt along with blue and black flannel. Should be interesting!

I made a cute jean top. but it became so very heavy. I cut to the minimum seam allowance. All jeans were worn, no bleeding of color could happen. I gathered cute tops and bottoms from kids clothing that had embellishments. But my.. it was just too heavy.
