Have any of you ever made those cute little flags that one can purchase from Lowes, Home Depot, WalMart? Different ones for different reasons? I had a customer, yesterday, ask if I could make one for her children so they can fly them on the boys' special days - to help celebrate their 'firsts' in life! :) I love the idea and need to be able to tell her what kind of fabric to buy... thanks for your input!

They're made out of rip stop nylon.

just a note...I purchase bright orange rip stop nylon to make a coat for a hunting dog recently...got it at a local Hancocks.

Oh, thank you for posting this topic. I was just going to go buy a flag. Now that I know what material I need I'm going to make one for Fall Harvest and one for Winter :) Anyone know if I need special thread or a special needle? Now, i just hsave to get the husband to fix the flag pole holder. In our last wind storm it blew off the house.
