question about jelly roll quilts
Would like to make a baby quilt like the jelly roll race quilt. How many jelly rolls would I use and would I cut them down. Any help would be appreciated. Still recuperating from should surgery but want to be ready when able to sew again.
Thanks

I read somewhere, probably here on QB, that the Honey Bun makes a nice baby sized quilt using the same pattern. Another option might be to use the Jelly Roll then just not sew the last seam, cut it in half, then either have two tops or a front and back reversible quilt.

Maybe I am slower than usual; but I have looked at the jelly roll race tutorials and not sure about it. They sew all together on bias. Got that. They cut off 18 inches from one end. Got that. But they say they sew together by folding in half. Then continue so that is what I just cannot visualize. Would appreciate anyone thad can clear the muddy water. Teresa

After each seam, you cut the fold then put the ends together and sew the next seam. So start with the long bias type, fold with right sides together, cut fold, fold with right sides and edges together, cut fold, etc. Make sure the strips are not twisted before you start the seam. Mine weren't but 54" wide i believe but 50" long. Give or take a little for seams. I can't remeber the exact measurements.
