Question about printing a saying to go on back of quilt
A couple months ago I bought a package of the June Tailor Computer Pinter Fabric suitable for inkjet printers. The saying I want to use is a little long so I thought I'd print it on this and sew into the back of a quilt I'm making. Today I'm ready to do this and make the back but as I read the directions it warns that inkjet ink will run if it gets wet. Well this quilt will get used and washed so that won't work. My machine (Sapphire 870) will stitch letters but I have never done this. Any tips about this or any printing solutions?

I don't know about the June Taylor but "Quilted Treasures" by Millikin (available at Joann's --preferably with coupon)
does not wash out. I just looked at DGS quilt from 2008 and the writing is still very legible. It prints well, including flowers, photos, etc.

Yes, look around for fabric that is treated so you can heat set the ink. You can find printable fabrics at many of the specialty digital paper carriers like Hahnemuhle, Somerset, Innova, Red River, Legion, and Digital Art Supplies.
Make sure your printer ink can be heat set as well. Not all jet printer inks are equal. You need to have pigment based ink, not dye based ink. HP and Epson are two companies that come to mind.

Thank you for your printing info!! I have an HP photosmart plus, I'm going to print one, heat set it and then wash it the next day to see how it comes out. If it fades I'll get some Printed Treasures.
P.S. In the meantime I figured out how to program and sew script on my Sapphire 870 but the letters aren't big enough because it is not an embroidery machine and I'm limited to the range of the needle.
Thanks much!!
