Yes, this was before internet ordering. You ordered by mail, attaching the sample to the paper order form. Coincidentally I just found this pack of 1.25" squares in some of my stuff on Sunday. There are probably 320 little squares here.

I've gotten sample books of drapery and upholstery fabric from a home decorator who retired.

I made a wall hanging from those sample swatches. I call it "Wildly Charming".
