Just found out someone has an 8 foot x 4 foot x 32" tall table they will give me for sewing.

What should I do with it?

Make it my new sewing area for QUILTING (as opposed to piecing). I seen once where they put the long table against a wall with the corner to the left. A 2' wide small table to the left of it would hold the bulk of a quilt to be quilted on a regular sewing machine.

    What would you do?

Snatch it up as quickly as possible, load it in the truck and take it home! Go get it before she changes her mind! I'll drive!

No hurry - HE knows I'm want it. First I have to make room for it! :( And more importantly decide where/how to use it once it gets here.

Anyone have that large of a surface in their sewing room?

I have LOTS of flat surfaces in my sewing room and they are all loaded up with fabric! I do think I need more fabric though! I am planning on getting a countertop that is 8 feet long and mounting it on one wall and using it for 2 sewing stations and for the serger. Then I can get rid of the table that I am using now along with a desk, THEN I can get Grandma's treadle in there. My counter top will only be 24" wide.

I have a cutting table that is fully open, it is 32 x 60.

I have no sewing room, but use my dining room table for cutting. I fill it up quick. Grab that table and use it for a cutting table.

I have a 36" x 7' flat door glued to a dresser for my worktable. If it was bigger, I'd love it!!! You won't have to wonder what you'll use it for once you get it put in...you'll wonder what you did without it!!! LOL

Get it, mines a similar size and works Great, even had drawers, 1 or 2 sewers can use at the same time w/no crouding, machine, c.board, tv, stacks o stuff.
Did have to stuff it in thru a window w/the legs removed to get it in the room, well worth the effort.
    Enjoy !!
