I do not know where I got this picture, I had just saved it in my pictures--no name and no instructions. Did someone here post it? I just can't remember where I got this picture but I want to make it and need some instructions. Of course it seems to be simple so I guess I can make up my on measurements and make my blocks any size I want. But I would like to know the name of the pattern.

BDor--there's a quilt just like that in the picture section--someone did it for her son. She did it all with squares. But I drew the pattern out using rectangles. I'll look for it in the other section. Then I saw one in the local quilt shop and the owner said it was in a book called "Charm Squares." She didn't know if it was in book 1 or 2. But, the picture you posted has an extra round of pieces on each block. It's very neat looking!

    Okay--I found it: http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/2705.page
Isn't that the same pattern--just with a different center idea?

Sorry I can't help more than that.

    Thanks Barnbum,
I can'decide if that is the same quilt or not. I had thought I would cut a 4 1/2 square for the center then cut 2 1/2 strips to go around that and the 2 1/2 strips like the center to go around that. Does that make sense? This would make a 12" block then cut in quaters and put them all back together randomly to form new blocks.

    Beverly,
I think 'bento box' is the name of this pattern. My sister-in-law made a quilt with this pattern. It's a neat pattern. Try googling 'bento box quilt pattern' and look at what you find.
    Have a great week!

BDor--Pam said she used 3" squares, so when I drew it out I figured on using 3 x 5.5" rectangles (4), and 3" squares (4), with a 5.5" center square. But, I didn't know it it'd have the same effect. Hers is beautiful.

I don't know what the extra row would be. I bet it can't be too hard to figure out.

Thanks everyone for your help. Yvonne & Amma it is the bento box pattern. I though I would make my squares like this and then cut them in quaters and sew back together randomly and make new blocks. I think that will work don't you. I don't know what the pattern instructions are. If I am not happy with this I will order the pattern.
