I plan on doing some strip piecing with the scraps I have. I have some very thin cotton/polyester sheets and thought about cutting them up for the base. Do you think that fabric content could be a problem?
Thanks.

I don't think it would be a problem as long as the scraps have all been washed so that any shrinkage would not be an issue.

The only issue would be that if you're using cotton scraps that have not been washed there could be some shrinkage issues. I'm assuming your sheets have been prewashed already... If your scraps and sheets have been washed and already shrunk, there shouldn't be any problems.

Pam and I are on the same wave-length.:>

If all of your fabrics are prewashed/dryed then it shouldn't be a problem, as the sheets shouldn't shrink, like the cotton fabrics do.

If EVERYTHING has been washed and dried before cutting, I think it should work out all right.

Thanks. The sheets have been washed many times and I wash all my fabric prior to use.

If you plan to have someone else quilt your product, you need to remember that some long-armers won't quilt items made with sheets - the sheet fabric doesn't quilt as easily as regular quilt fabric does...should be no problem as far as the piecing is concerned.

What do you mean when you say 'the base'? /Regards, Dorothy

The base is the square of fabric that I would sew the strips on to. Sounds like bad English!
