I still haven't found anything else I like for the solid black ~ although Kona made in the new country they chose feels almost like a poly cotton the last bolt I opened... I buy it a bolt at a time, BTW ~ must have my Kona!!!

I love using Kona solids for the insides of my totebags. I would continue buying it even if it increases in price. Hopefully, the quality won't change.

Even the prices on wholesale closeouts at the place we go to have gone up twice in 6 months.

I would definitely stick with the Kona Cotton Solids...some things you just can't do without. If you find the quality of the fabric you trust and like, then you stick with it. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!

is it cheaper to buy by the bolt??? I have only seen it at the stores stating price by yard.

Michael Miller and Moda have come out with some (or have had) a great line of solids and I've found them to be very nice quality. I can't remember their collection names at the moment. Michael Miller's Jet Black is a true black and as good if not better than the other quality blacks.

Jet Black is Michael Miller's #1 best seller, according to the newsletter they send me. It is more expensive than Kona Cotton (and always has been) by about $1 / yard on the wholesale level.

Kaufman does make a premium black solid that is supposed to be comparable to Jet Black. Also at a premium price. I have not seen it in person though.
