Maybe this tip is only good for me because I might be the only one who works like that with my deluxe ergonomic rotary cutter. I don't know?!? Anyway here goes: I have the habit of pushing away the fabric from the ruler with the tip of the blade to be able to cut a second strip and realign my ruler with the raw edge. The other day while rotary cutting I did a goof. It made a cut and THIS time I noticed. I then had an aha moment but not the kind that Oprah likes. More like "Ah! that's what happen to my quilt I was quilting 3 months ago". Yep, I was half done with my quilting and I noticed a cut of ¼ of an inch in my "FromMyGarden" (Quiltemaker May 2006- Erin Wilcoxon). It was my first paper piecing quilt. I was so upset. To prevent that from happening again, I gave adherence to the bottom of my rotary cutter by putting a self-adhesive clear rubber dot (made to put under template so they won't slip). This way, I don't use the blade anymore just the bottom of my cutter. Now for the second tip: because the quilt was already sandwiched and half-quilted, it was hard to repare the cut. I took some fiber of a hem fusible web tape and inserted it very carefully under the fabric and ironed it. Since it is a wallhanging that might be enough since I don't plan to wash it until 2025!

See the little clear rubber dot on the bottom??

That is a beautiful flower arrangement. No you can't see the boo boo. But thank you for the tip. We don't always have to make the same mistake someone else makes to learn.
