    Default Quilting with flannel backing

Okay--I have pieced many quilts and have quilted a couple. I'm attempting to quilt a baby quilt with flannel backing and am worried about puckers when I use my machine to run straight lines. I am looking for some advice from you veteran-quilters.

This might be the place to use your walking foot if you are doing straight lines or gentle curves. If you are FMQ I would suggest either 505 spray basting or fusible quilt batt. The fusibles seem to make the sandwich more stable then pin basting or needle basting. That is just my opinion and others may have more pointers for you.

This is also a place to make sure you wash your fabric because flannel will shrink when washed. The walking foot will help you alot with those straight lines.

Thank you so much! I have not tried fusible batt--am now thinking it's the way to go.
