I used my walking foot to bind some quilt squares and loved the way it worked. My question is: Is there a problem using it for general sewing?

not at all :D there are many here that do...as long as you can adjust it for a 1/4 or scant 1/4" seam :D:D:D

Unless I really have to use another foot, I always use my walking foot.

Just back sure your foot "allows" back stitching or any other stitch you might want to try before you do it, broken needles and foot are not fun :?

Unless I'm stitching in the ditch, I always use my walking foot for all my sewing. I more than likely would use a different foot if I was sewing on applique.

I use mine for a lot of jobs. Mine accommodates zig zag stitch also.

I make a point of attaching binding using my walking foot.

I've been wanting to ask this question for sooooo long but haven't because I've been a little embarrassed. I started using my walking foot for piecing a couple quilts back because with my regular foot my top fabric always ended up getting pushed a little at the ends. I thought the walking foot was like a crutch and that I just wasn't skilled enough to use a regular foot for piecing. Come to find out now it's a pretty common practice and I'm not alone! I feel so much better now! :)

Can I ask why you don't use it for stitch-in-the-ditch?
