I got all ready to make the jelly roll quilt this morning, was all excited and sewed the first two pieces together. Then I looked at my pile and thought, gosh that doesn't look like 40 strips. It isn't 40 strips, it's only 24! I'm thinking about just doing it with 24 and making a really small one! :)

You can always add borders to make it bigger.

Where did you buy it from? Can you take it back? I would almost wonder if you were cheated some strips. 24 seems like an odd number to have

I don't remember where I bought it, probably Joanns or Walmart. It's been in my stash for a while. I thought it seemed like an odd number too. I could always call it a doll quilt!

It depends on the company. I've seen them with less. Moda usually has 40-42.

I've also noticed that J rolls from other manuf. are usually smaller than Moda's. Moda always has 40-42 strips. Also doublecheck the online sellers who make up their own jelly rolls, they are usually smaller too ... ask me how I know :(

I would say it's definitely an off brand. It's pretty, just going to make a smaller quilt than planned.

I got some jelly rolls from e-bay this week. they were low in price and nice quality fabrics but not much variety nor lots in number of strips...A bit disappointed but I will keep them.

There was a big sale on Black Friday weekend, it was name brand charms/jelly rolls, but they only had half as many pieces as usual... :D:D:D
