Default quillow

has anyone made a quillow with 2 layers of fleece instead of cotton. I figure with fleece being on sale this time of year, it would be cheaper to made. I would need to sew 9 for the children.

I made one once with just one layer of fleece. No quilting, just one layer of fleece with the built-in pillow.
I have also made a full sized blanket out of 2 layers of fleece -- it is very heavy and extra-warm (almost hot).

I made a couple many years ago for my nephews when they was quite young. Only used 1 layer of fleece though.

As I remember making them, there isn't any quilting done and with flannel you might want to secure it so it won't fold inside of itself.

Not quillows, but I've made several throws with 2 layers of fleece. I just bind and don't worry about any quilting. My In laws prefer fleece to quilts, so that is all I make for them now. I save pieced quilts for those who appreciate them now.

Those double fleece throws that are tied on the edges are pretty thick, and are about the size of my other quillows. Don't know how well they would fold up into the pillow portion.

I have made several quillows with one layer of fleece. However, I make the pocket with 2 layers of fleece and usually applique a piece cut from fleece on the pocket part, sewing all the way through both pocket layers. I usually crochet around the edge of the blanket part.

If you are looking for ideas on various kinds of fleece blankets, ProjectLinus.org is a good resource.

I've only seen them with fleece and flannel. I like the fleece.

I made a quillow last year. Used regular cotton fabric. Sounds like fleece would be great.
