I have used one and it works great. Someone at guild said nylon net worked the same. It doesn't. Someone said plastic canvas worked the same. It doesn't. Just buy the mat! LOL

Can you wash the pattern off and reuse it?

You've answered my question in one! I have tons of plastic canvas - so I will be on the hunt for this product.Usually have to go to one of the bigger cities for special stuff, so this will give me an excuse to make the trip. Many thanks for the info.

Now that I understand what it is It seems like a great idea, especially for FMQ designs.

It does look neat but I would want to know if you can remove the lines on the mesh also. I can see using it over and over on a quilt but after that quilt is done, I would want to use a different design on another quilt. Would you then have to buy another mesh?

I checked online at several places. Description said if you use a washable pen it can be wiped clean and reused. A pencil can be used on the matte side and I'm assuming it probably could be erased with a soft eraser. May have to buy some to try. Cost was between 6.00 and 10.00 for a 12x16 sheet.
