    Default quilt block software

I am looking for a cheap way to design my quilt blocks. Are there any programs out there that work and won't scare me to death?

I have EQ6 and think it's awesome. Didn't find it too difficult, an instruction book is supplied, also help section within the program. You can draw blocks with straight and curved lines, also draw applique patches, scan in your own fabrics if you choose, to colour the blocks , then set them all in a quilt of your own design.

I like EQ, too. I forget what version I have, 5 or 6. There is a learning curve, but it's not difficult. You just have to learn all the awesome things it can do for you, that's all.

Free! It's what I use and it's easy to play with. If you think you made a mistake designing and don't want to "undo", just delete and start over. It comes with a forum for questions.

i have eq7 and am very happy with it. but there was an article in quilters newsletter recently by a designer who uses word for her quilt patterns. i never would have thought to try that.

There is software program that JAF sell called QUILT DESIGN WIZARD made by Electric Quilt. Some on this board have found it better than EQ for their needs. Be careful to read what computer operating system it works on. I have had EQ in version 3, 4, 5 and 7. LOVE IT !

I sell my patterns, and use Microsoft Publisher. You may already have it if you got the Microsoft Office Suite.
