I know this will sound like a "no-no" for a quilter, but if you can find bright colors in cotton/polyester it will hold up better and stay brighter longer. Use fairly close quilting and put the binding on by machine or use Eleanor Burns method and just turn, close and stitch along the edge instead of binding.

Brights!! Yellow, orange, aqua/turquoise, leaf green, deep blue.....all colors in fabric brought to me from Africa for a commission quilt I will be making shortly. (Interestingly, no pinks.)

I didn't think about using a poly-cotton. What a good suggestion! Thanks to both you and BlueGrassGurl for the idea.
