Default Handiquilter overlay for sitdown?

I own a handiquilter sitdown. Starting to use lots of rulers and templates. Was looking on the handiquilter website and saw an overlay to help the quilt to move freely. Has anyone out there used this? It is $89 and just not sure it will be worth it. Thank you in advance for any info.

I haven't used it but I was under the impression - from a demo I saw - that its purpose is to create a smooth surface for the new stitch regulator to travel over.

I'd read that people have had problems with quilts dragging on the squared off front edge and I'd hoped that this would solve that problem but I don't think it's any larger than the table surface.

Could be wrong about this. You might want to call the company.

I don't have an HQ SS but am looking.

Don't have the HQ yet, but saw the overlay at quilting show. I would not buy it - it is super slick and is cut to fit exactly the table top. The surface underneath is pretty slick already but you can always wax it to make it more slippery.

My biggest complaint is when using rulers I always have problems with it falling off the edge of there my machine meets the table. The machine is about quarter of inch taller than the table. This doesn't work well when doing ruler/template work. My big issue is not the fabric not sliding, it is the ruler staying level. Any thoughts?

I have used it and it stops the rulers from catching on the table where the throat of the machine sits. If i were you I would go and try it out first and then decide. i have only just got my machine and it came with it but I have not used it without.
