quilt label problem

quilt label problem
I was so happy with the label until I washed the quilt and this is what happened. Is it too big or what?
Should I leave it as is? It is just so wrinkled looking. I will gladly take it off and do another; I have made
lots of labels and never has any done this badly. Do you think the font is too dense; such a beautiful
font monogram.

I wonder if the issue is not your label but that your quilt did the shrinking after the wash and this made the label crinkle?? Unless you preWash all the fabrics and batting, quilts will shrink 3-5%.. If this is the case, can you just pick out the stitching that attaches the label, iron the label flat again and hand stitch it back on the quilt?? Beautiful label!!!

I agree, the quilt shrunk underneath the label, you're right, it's a beautiful font.

What did you use for embroidery stabilizer? Also, did you prewash the brown fabric you used for the label? I'm thinking that there wasn't heavy enough stabilizer used and/or it looks like the brown fabric shrunk a bit. As suggested, remove it and see if you can press the wrinkles out.

Lincoln, NE., Quilt Museum does not recommend labels, but writing directly on the quilt. Telling as much about the quilt as possible. I used to put labels on quilts that I made; now I write the info on the quilt. Yours is a lovely label...and its your quilt....so I would recommend you do it your way.
