the ladies in my quilt group have been tying quilts with worsted yarn for years. Now we have changed to perle cotton #3 and are having a hard time finding it.

Any suggestions on tying with something else or where we can find the #3 cotton.

In one of my quilt groups, they use embroidery floss...bought on sale and in bulk.

In another, they use those big rolls you can get of crochet thread. I find them sturdier than embroidery floss, easier to use and in the long run cheaper than using a whole 6-ply unit of floss.

I buy perle cotton at either a X stitch store or Wal-mart. Be careful with DMC--I have had some shades for on me. Would be a shame to ruin a quilt with the DMC floss.
