I saw one at a quilt show, gorgeous, if memory serves me right they appliqued the whole piece to a block. Made me wish I had thought of doing that, too late even for our great grandson, now in 3rd grade.

I made a quilt for my nephew and his wife. It was so cute! I got the pattern online and it was like a big piece of fabric, blue sky, maybe even with a few clouds for a boy and little appliqued birds. Between the birds was a "clothesline" of ribbon, if memory serves. From the clothesline hung the baby clothes. They were newborn size and I stitched somehow when the baby was born and all the pertinent information. It really was cute! I think the "grand nephew" is now in middle school. Wish I had a picture. I have not thought about that quilt in ages. Thanks for the memory nudge. It was one of my best. I wonder if his mom treasures it?

Look at the second quilt. I made larger squares and backed it with light weight interfacing.

Anna, thank you for sharing your pictures. On the baby clothes quilt, did you applique the clothes on a large square of fabric? Kind of hard to tell by the picture. All of your quilts are beautiful!
