Default Quilt missing after Houston Quilt Show

I just read this in two places, facebook and MyQuiltSpace.com and thought I would post it here as well - perhaps we can help. This quilt is missing.

I’m hoping you can post this information and picture on the on-line quilt group you’re with. I just found out that my “Really ‘Wild’ Flowers! Second Season” quilt went missing the day after the Houston show and I’m devastated and heart-broken beyond words. I’m offering a cash reward for its safe return, no questions asked. I would just like to have my quilt back home. The size is 62” x 64.5”.
Please urge each of the gals to send the information out to their own personal contacts as well if you would.
Thank you so much,
~ Sharon
If you have seen this quilt, please contact Sharon Schlotzhauer.

Wow.........what is this world coming to that people might actually steal a quilt. I hope it was just misplaced into the wrong box.

That is a beautiful quilt and one that would be easily recognizable if one was to see it somewhere. I received a notice from someone on line earlier today, can't remember who it was, so the word is getting out. I too can't figure out how this can happen, why would someone do that? I hope it isn't a quilter. I have heard people talking about people stealing at the shows and shops and some are quilters. I really don't like to think that happens but it surely does, so sad.

I always hate hearing these stories about missing quilts! Yours is unique enough that someone will find it!

Yes, it is unfortunate that even with tight security that these beauties can be stolen. Like all art theft, I believe it is done by people who know its worth and will keep it hidden to admire privately or sell on the black market. Shame those people are not clever enough to make something worthwhile by themselves and there might be less theft.

I read the artical, and I emailed the local TV show here in Houston, and told them what happened. I hope they air it on TV, and she can find her quilt again. I think that is terrible, that someone would take that.

Some friends of mine that have co-authored some books and several patterns lost a box of 5 or 6 quilts after the Houston quilt show a couple of years ago. They never did get them back. I had a quilt stolen from me that was on display at a store. It doesn't matter if it is 1 quilt or 6 quilts it is devistating to have someone steal from you. I hope she gets her quilt back it is a beautiful.
