Just the other day I was bragging to someone on here that I have an 8 year old Kenmore that I LOVE! because I have had it 8 years never serviced it, heck never even oiled it nothing (think I cleaned out the bobbin area once. Everytime I plugged it in it sew like a charm..........................

I was using it yesterday and its not working :( It is making lots of noises and when I get to the end of the fabric no matter what the thread breaks.
and ohh the noises coming out of that thing sounds like a cat in heat! The bobbin is jumping its just a MESS!

I think I jinxed my machine
I have cleaned out the bobbin area, oiled it in the only 3 points the manual has said to. It is still messing up.
I have downloaded the service manual for it and I am going to see about fixing it.

I can take apart a vintage machine and put it back together I hope I can for this

Wish me luck I am going in!!!

anyone ever have to play repair man on a newer machine?
any tips?

I had to take my 13 month old Baby Lock in for repairs. (only 1 month after warranty expired). It cost my $135 for them to look at and repair it. It was bobbin tension and timing issues. I was very happy to get it back and working.

Oh my, hate it when this happens. I wish I could go back in time and taqke back what I said. YOu aren't alone. But on the other hand, if you truely never cleaned it or oiled it, etc....then you are so lucky it lasted this long. Hope you figure it out. Might take some extra time and cleaning. FOr those hard to get spots I use a can or spray. SOme say don't use it, I always have. Keep us posted if you can save it.

Its a 150$ machine that I got as a gift 8 years ago so I dont see any sense in putting money into it so hopefully I can save it myself. I have other machines so I am not out.

The reason it never got cleaned was for years I didnt know any better. Then a few years ago by the time i knew better i figured I better leave well enough alone cus if I did anything to her she would break LOLOLOL
