Default Cathedral Windows W/ Accuquilt Double Wedding Ring Die

Anyone know if it is possible to use the Double Wedding Ring Die to make the Cathedral Windows quilts? I have the die, and the shapes of the center and the melons look the same to me, but I have never done the cathedral windows pattern. Any suggestions or problems that you immediately foresee?

I don't think it will work. For one thing, when you fold the sides over the center block, the other pieces are not going to fit. If you look on the tutorial section here, Eddie has a great tutorial that makes the Cathedral windows easy peasy.

A real cathedral windows quilt uses a folding technique, using a bias edge to get the curves. When you are done making the squares, no additional quilting is needed because of the thickness of the fabric layers (although you can if you want)
Here is a good tutorial for making one by machine:

You can get the 'look' of the quilt by using the die, or rolling the edges on a 10 minute block, but it's really not the same thing.

with the old version of this forum, it was really easy to create bookmarks. It's a few more steps now, but not too bad.
Open the thread you want to bookmark
Just before the first post, after all the 'junk' at the top of the page, you will see a hotspot for "Thread Tools"
Click that, then select "Subscribe to this thread..."
On the next page, select "Bookmarks" from the "Folder" dropdown.
Then click the "Add Subscription" button.
    To retrieve your bookmarks,
Click on "Quick Links" near the top of the page, under the Quilting Board logo.
    Select "Subscribed Threads"
On the next page select 'bookmarks' on the left.
