    Quilt shows in Florida?

We will be in Florida for two months this year. Any Guild shows I might want to see?

I found the local guild when I moved by Googling the area.

Your best bet is to check the Country Register for Florida. It's a great source for shows, shops and some Guilds. You can check it out online or pick up one at your first Quilt shop.

The Villages in January. The Country Register is a great suggestion.

DH and I hope to move to Florida next summer. Do any of you live near Largo/St. Petersburg/Seminole area? Are there good quilt shops anywhere near by?

Sherri, Yes, yes, yes! My favorite for friendliness, service, wonderful teachers, some of just about everything and great classes is Country Quilts & Bears in Clearwater-a great Greek deli right by them. Also a guild meets there. Rainbow's End is in Dunedin (a very pretty drive up the coast-about 20 minutes from where I am in Largo-this shop has a very large inventory-you name it they've got it or something similar. Very large seasonal/holiday selection- Also great shops & restaurants in the historic downtown area. Happy Apple Quilts is in Palm Harbor, great classes, wonderful customer service, good selection & training and rent time on a long arm. Great deli by them also :-) Welcome to the Gulf Coast & sugar sand beaches!

I found this link here that has some listed. http://quiltersresources.net/quiltshows_fl.html

The big show in Jacksonville was last month. I don't know where in Florida you will be but if you are up north there is a quilt show held every year in the fall at Stephen Foster State Park and Cultural Center, this year is starts on October 16th. The park is a beautiful setting for a quilt show.

I forgot to add, usually the second to the last page of the Country Register has a map with stars showing where each advertiser is located in Florida. A friend and I had a terrific shop hop thru central Florida last year. Each shop seemed to be about 30 minutes apart.

We will be in FL from mid October to Christmas in the Orlando area, welcoming our new grandbaby

I'll be sure to check out the County Register - thanks for the info.

Will probably visit a few quilt shops and antique stores. Any recommendations?
