Default Quilt for teens

I have several fabrics with peace signs (think 70's). Can I use these to make quilts for teens. I was thinking maybe the warm wishes pattern. Is the fabric & pattern a no go. What makes a nice donation quilt for teens.

I personally don't think peace signs ever go out of style for tweens and teens. And the warm wishes pattern is a favorite for donation quilts. I think they will be great.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if I should use peace sign fabric. Not too sure what teens like. Was also thinking of the Hash Tag pattern, using a variety of solid colour fabrics. We were asked for teen quilts. Most of us have no idea for teens. Suggestions welcome.

Teens like color! & black & white. Geometric designs-- anything that's not ( babyish- like baby animals) search ( modern quilts) to find lots of ideas that appeal to today's young people (teens)

Have you ever seen the plus sign quilt? It's a great pattern. And it would be wonderful with solids. Here's a link to a free tutorial. http://fortheloveofgeorge.com.au/arc...t-in-progress/ I've made several with this pattern. I love it.

Anything with strong color - I would avoid baby colors, civil war reproduction colors - anything too muted and/or drab. Peace signs are great - and skulls. Skulls are very big these days

I enjoy making Warm Wishes quilt patterns for teens. It goes together very quickly. I need to make the backing for this quilt so it can go off to a LAQ. I have wanted to make the skateboard quilt from MSQC.

I think the peace sign fabric would be great for teens. Stick with modern designs, borderless, solids to complement your peace sign print. Examples like City Blocks, or the classic the shadow box design with the peace sign fabric being the 'top' square, with the shadow in black or dark gray, and a complementary solid as the background, or the square in a square pattern or the simple cobblestone pattern. The BQ pattern by Maple Island Quilts would also work well for teens, with the peace sign fabric being the large focus squares. All of these go together really quickly. Here are some photos that might give you some ideas.

I do not know the name for this quilt - but imho it is even quicker than warm wishes. It is just a rectangle with contrasting sides. Every other one is rotated 90 degrees. It might look great with your fabric.
