I found several tops that my grandmother made circa 1930's and 40's that are quite similar to yours. If that helps you date it at all.. I just sandwiched them and tied them to give to each of my siblings so we have one of our family treasures each

At least one piece of 40's, some 50's, 60's and possibly some 30's. What a cool piece of history (I am a devil for vintage fabric and will buy even small pieces). I would hand quilt but not big stitch (this is purely a personal choice). Show us what you come up with - I would love to see the end result.

I agree with handquilting it a little at a time and it will be done way faster than you can imagine!
