My patient husband took me to my first Quilt Show on Thursday at the Convention Center in Lancaster, PA. WOW! It was wonderful. I felt privileged to be in the presence of so many talented people. Being in a wheelchair I thought would be a problem. Was I wrong. Every door was held open, elevators were held for us while people said they would wait for the next one, and people offered to reach things for me at the booths. What a wonderful experience. When I got home and unpacked my goodies, I found I had lost my wallet. Over $100, drivers license, insurance cards, and credit cards all gone. I was sick.
To my surprise I got a call the next day and was told some unknown person turned it in money and all! It was truly a very memorable day. Aren't Quilters just the most warm, friendly, helpful and honest people you have ever met? Thank you and Bless All of you!

I'm glad you had such a great experience! My DH's family still lives in Lancaster and I'd like to go next year to visit at the same time as Quilt Show!! Everyone has posted such good comments on the exhibit this year. Quilters are the BEST people ever!! Your DH was a dear to take you to your first show!

I also went to the Lancaster Quilt Show today and had a great time! At one booth I wanted to purchase a special ruler but didn't have enough money left. The man who was selling it said I could take one with me and then send him a check when I got home! I nearly fell over! I couldn't believe that he would be so trusting.

That just goes to show you that quilters all belong to one big family! And I'm so glad that I'm one of this family's members!! :D

Jane, I am glad you had such a good experience. I was at the same show on Friday, and you are right...never met such a wonderful group of people. It was like being part of a really big family! We all had a LOT in common!

I was going to meet up with a couple of ladies from the board, but we all had slightly different agenda's and unfortunately they didn't allow us to meet. Maybe next year we need to start planning ahead and set a date, time and place. That way we can put a face to the name. I did meet one of the board members who is an educator for HQ. She is very nice and so knowledgeable!

Oh, my DH guided me to the Bernina booth, and as of Monday, I will have upgraded from my 440QE to a 730E. That hubby of mine is definitely a keeper! He said, "Hey, I thought maybe a 640, but this is a deal you can't beat! Go for it! :-)

Yes I am! Thanks, I know I will enjoy my machine, once I learn its' ins and outs. There isn't a class until May, but I will go slowly and pay close attention to the manual.

Jane, I'm so glad you got to go and enjoy! Quilt shows are so much fun and specially meeting new people who so enjoy the same thing. Your husband is wonderful. I hope he had a good time also. I have yet to get mine to one! Although he is softening a bit and starting to get a little more interested in my adventures with quilting.

There are some really good people left in this world. I'm so glad everything was still in your wallet. My heart always drops and I'm so bothered when I misplace things. It weighs on my mind till its all good again. Sounds like you hit a good show! Watch out you will be looking for more in your community before long! Have fun with them.
