Classes are great...always something to learn even if its a project you've already done..someone always has some new gadget or technique...we have FREE classes here provided by our Library

Good for you. You learn so much by doing a class with an instructor.

I recommend that everyone take at least one quilting class. I learned from my grandmother, and while she did things her way....I wasn't privy to all of the new techniques. :)

Wow a free class would be awesome!!! This one is 5 weeks (I was wrong) and $75 but it's a beginning quilters class. I can't wait. It's from 6:30-9:30pm and I'm excited to get to be there for 3 hours without the kids! That in itself is a wonderful thing LOL. I love the quilt shop its in also, I could stay there all day it's so nice and pretty and everyone there is so nice. It's tomorrow and I cant wait! We are making 2 quilts, one is a rail quilt ? and the 2nd one will be a sampler quilt. Should be awesome.

I picked out my fabrics there and they helped me find stuff from the clearence cart since I didn't want anything expensive. I don't want to spend a fortune on fabric and be afraid to cut it. I just cant wait to see what kind of things I will learn. I will post pics for sure :)

Good for you. In quilting you learn a little at a time. But that first quilt is tough because you are learning so many things at one time. After that it is easy peasy

I love taking classes, quilters are just the friendliest people I meet. It is so fun seeing everyone else's work. If this is a beginners class you will really learn from each other.
Have fun!

Classes are great. You will learn so much and have so much fun. A night away isn't bad either!

I had my 1st class tonight and it was so much fun! I learned I'm not supposed to use my walking foot for piecing, my 5 year old seam ripper is too old... that its really important to get the measurements exact and I bought the wrong rulers LOL. It's so much fun though and it was so nice to get away for a bit.

Oh and they told us to get fabric from connecting threads! I'm so excited this is such a great class.
