    I agree with the others that either way is fine. If the design of the quilt clearly has a top and bottom, then I think I would want the bottom border quilting to be right-side-up when the quilt is hanging on a wall (your way), but if the quilt is top-bottom symmetric then I would expect that the top and bottom borders would also be symmetric (DH's way). If the top-bottom are symmetric then you also have the option of flipping the quilt either way on the bed, so it makes more sense to have the borders symmetric.

    your quilt, your way. You can tell your husbnad that he is right but you prefer it your way. That is, unless he has a vote and not just a say! just MHO

    I make all 4 sides of a quilt border face the center for the one simple reason that the quilt will then NOT have a top or bottom and will wear more evenly....
