The more information you can give or show to your LAMer will be the best help you could give them so they can do what you want. I do some LAMing and if someone brought me a picture of what they liked I would be most thankful. I would not copy exactly but do similar work to make a person as satisfied as I could.

I have a quilt on my frame I am quilting for a friend. She brought me the book and asked that I quilt it 'just like the picture". She does not mean to the stitch, but the same style. As long as I am able to quilt that pattern, I am happy to give her what she has asked for.

Being a longarm quilter, I want my customer's quilt to be quilted as they want it quilted. I always ask my customer "what are your ideas about the quilting". Most of the time I am told to quilt it however I want to; however, I always appreciate any ideas they may have and am thrilled when they bring a picture to give me an idea of what they want. Please take the picture/pattern to your LAQ.

Thank you so much for all your advice and input. I just took my quilt and the pictures to my LAQer and we had a very good discussion about what I want and what she can do.
She was very thankful that I brought the pictures, and because of this tread I felt comfortable bringing them.
Thanks so much, I'll post a photo when it's got the binding and the the cute detail buttons are sewed on.
