    I paid $12,000 for my HQ long arm, then another $8,000 to computerize it. But that included a new carriage also.

    A friend bought one for 30 thousand several years ago. So if you go into business it might be worth it.

    Thanks for all the input. I do have the room for a massive one, but alas, not the budget lol

    i have an embroidery machine, and I struggle with doing quilting with it because I can never get it to line up perfectly. It drives me nuts. I've put so much time and effort into making a beautiful quilt top and then when it comes to quilting it with an overall design I wreck it. My FMQ is horrible - even after 6+ years of practise. I usually end up doing decorative stitching on my quilts just so they don't get ruined
